Severe Weather Policy

Inclement weather guidelines.
  1. In case of any storm with high winds and/or lightning, the library staff on duty will shut down all computers and keep the radio on to receive weather updates.
  2. During a TORNADO WATCH, shutting down the computers will be at the director’s discretion depending upon weather conditions.
  3. During a TORNADO WARNING, the library staff on duty will shut down and unplug all computers, turn off main lights, and invite any present patrons to seek shelter in a bathroom.  Doors are not to be locked.
  4. In case of severe winter weather, the decision to close the library will be made by the library director and by one board member.  When possible library closings will be announced on WCSR 92.1 FM radio.
