How we came to be who we are

Reading Community Library located at 104 North Main Street in Reading, provides services to all residents living within the library district, which includes the city of Reading, Reading Township, and the contracted municipality of Cambria township with services available to all others for a nominal fee of $10 per family, per year.

Our library system holds over 13,000 materials including over 10,000 books, and 1,000 audio-visual materials including Audiobooks, VHS tapes, Music CD's, and DVDs. We have almost 200 DVDs available for check-out for a low $1 fee, all proceeds go towards the purchase of additional DVDs.

In total, over ten thousand items were checked out of the system during fiscal year 2010-11! In addition to these items, hundreds of people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet through the Library’s high speed connection, or attend one of the Library’s events.
